David Shannon has recently received news that he will be invested into the Order of Ontario on January 27, 2011! David has been committed to policy development and advocacy for bettering health care and community integration for persons with a disability. He was the founding president of the Canadian Network of Entrepreneurs with a Disability, and sits on numerous boards including the Canadian Association of Independent Living Centres, the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. David is the co-chair of the citizenship team with Dr. Audrey Kobayashi of Queen’s and an important contributor to the CDPA research agenda. We congratulate him on this tremendous achievement!
