We have two policy partners (one Federal, one Provincial). These partners function in an advisory capacity to all teams. Their role includes the following:
- Assist the teams and project groups in understanding the policy environment relative to any particular issues that they are addressing
- Assist the teams in identifying appropriate contact persons within government responsible for the policy area under consideration
- Assist teams in framing their message to take government priorities, sensitive issues, program developments into consideration
- Assist teams in understanding the timeliness of particular policy issues and the opportunities for meaningful citizen engagement
The role of policy partners in particular is understood in light of their primary allegiance to their government department.
