In June 2010 Dr. Wanda Lyons and Dr. Scott Thompson, researchers with the Canadian Disability Policy Alliance and members of the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina presented “Inclusive Education as a special education initiative: Is that part of the problem?” at the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Annual Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The presentation focuses on the gaps between the official commitments of selected Canadian provinces and practices in actual classroom settings and sets the agenda for a large scale collaborative agenda in Canadian provinces.  A similar presentation was given around the same time at the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration at the Canadian Society for the Study of Education Conference in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
